The Saint Mary’s Gaels will head up to the Bay and take on the San Francisco Dons in WCC play from the Leavey Center on WCC.
Saint Mary’s improved to 15-4 after beating LMU at home. The Gaels jumped out to a double digit halftime lead, and held on to defeat the Lions by 14 points. St. Mary’s scores 68.8 points per game, while allowing 57.7 ppg, while shooting 45.4% from the floor.
Saint Mary’s has jumped out to a great start in conference play, and they enter this matchup with a ton of momentum. Logan Johnson gets things going in the backcourt, and he was cooking against the Cowboys. The senior guard went for a season-high 28 points in the win over Wyoming, and he’s posting a nice line of 11.3 ppg, 5.1 rpg, and 3.6 apg. Mitchell Saxen has been a force up front, and after tying his season-high of 19 points versus the Cowboys, he’s scoring 12.9 ppg, while leading the team in rebounding (8.5). Fellow guards Aidan Mahaney (14.8 ppg) and Alex Ducas (12.4 ppg, 3.5 rpg) have provided steady play on the wings as well.
