St. Louis Blues (2-2-1) vs. Vancouver Canucks (4-2-0)

The 2023-24 NHL season goes on Friday, October 27, with the St. Louis Blues taking on the Vancouver Canucks in the Western Conference showdown at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia, with the puck drop at 10:00 PM ET.

St. Louis and Vancouver lock horns for the first time this term. Last season, the Blues took two out of three games from the Canucks, and St. Louis has won five of its previous six encounters with Vancouver.

Thursday’s games have been excluded from the analysis, and the 2-2-1 St. Louis Blues visited the Calgary Flames, looking to avoid their second straight loss. Last Tuesday, St. Louis suffered a 4-2 defeat at the Winnipeg Jets to start a four-game road trip. The Blues were outshot 30-20 by the Jets while going 1-for-4 with the man advantage.

St. Louis is scoring 2.00 goals per game (tied-29th in the NHL) and ranks 30th in the league in power-play percentage (6.7%). On the other side of the puck, the Blues are tenth in goals against (2.80 per game) and 25th in penalty-killing percentage (71.4%).

At the time of writing, it was unknown who’ll guard the cage for the Blues against Calgary on Thursday night. Hereof, it’s impossible to predict the Blues’ starter for Friday’s clash against Vancouver. Jordan Binnington has gone 2-1-1 with a 1.69 GAA and a .945 save percentage so far this season, while Joel Hofer is 0-1-0 with a 6.02 GAA and a .857 save percentage.
