The St. Louis Blues face the Seattle Kraken with both teams looking to build off of promising starts to the season. The Blues have a 16-15-1 record and are in the middle of the Central Division while the Kraken have a 17-10-3 record and are near the top of the Pacific Division. Both teams are looking to improve within the division and the Western Conference and the upcoming game looks to be a good one as result.

The Blues are having a promising season but hope the offense can step up scoring only 2.97 goals per game. While Jordan Kyrou, Robert Thomas, and Brayden Schenn have scored 27 goals and 53 assists, the rest of the offense has struggled. Only five skaters have eight goals or more while only eight skaters have nine assists or more and opposing defenses can limit the top-heavy offense as a result.

The offense has struggled but the defense has let the Blues down, allowing 3.65 goals per game. Niko Mikkola and Nick Leddy have combined for 2.6 defensive point shares and 85 blocked shots but the rest of the unit has struggled, allowing opponents to find open shots on the net at will. In addition, goaltender Thomas Griess has struggled in the net with a .906 save percentage and a 3.50 goals-against average on 339 shots.
