The St. Louis Blues face the Ottawa Senators with both teams looking to improve on rough seasons. The Blues have a 26-26-3 record and are near the bottom of the Central Division while the Senators have a 26-24-4 record and are near the bottom of the Atlantic Division. Both teams look to improve within their divisions and the upcoming game looks to be a good one as a result.

The Blues are having a season to forget despite their offense stepping up and scoring 3.13 goals per game. Jordan Kyrou and Robert Thomas have scored 38 goals and 63 assists to lead the top line but the rest of the offense has also stepped up. Pavel Buchnevich, Brayden Schenn, and Ivan Barbashev have combined for 42 goals and 72 assists while defensemen Justin Faulk and Torey Krug have added 11 goals and 37 assists from the point to open up the offense.

The offense has been great but the defense has been awful, allowing 3.57 goals per game. Justin Faulk and Calle Rosen have combined for 4.3 defensive point shares but the rest of the unit has struggled, allowing opponents to find open shots on the net at will. Additionally, goaltender Thomas Greiss has struggled with a .909 save percentage and a 3.22 goals-against average on 481 shots.
