The St. Louis Blues face the New York Rangers with both teams looking to improve from rough starts to the season. The Blues have an 11-13 record and with a three-game losing streak have fallen to the bottom of the Central Division. The Rangers have an 11-10-5 record and have lost five of their last six games. Both teams are looking to rebound in their divisions and the upcoming game looks to be a good one as a result.

The Blues are having an awful season with their offense struggling and scoring only 2.83 goals per game. While Pavel Buchnevich, Jordan Kyrou, and Robert Thomas have scored 21 goals and 38 assists to lead the top two lines, the rest of the offense has struggled. Only six skaters have scored six goals or more while only six skaters have eight assists or more and opposing defenses can easily limit the top-heavy offense.

The offense has struggled but the defense has been one of the worst in the league, allowing only 3.75 goals per game including 16 goals in the last three games. Calle Rosen and Niko Mikkola have combined for 2.4 defensive point shares and 57 blocked shots but the rest of the unit has struggled, allowing opponents to carry the puck into the offensive zone and find open shots on the net. In addition, goaltender Jordan Binnington has struggled in the net with a .895 save percentage a nd a 3.27 goals-against average on 551 shots
