St. Louis Blues (2-2-1) vs. Calgary Flames (2-4-1)

Week 3 of the 2023-24 NHL season goes on with an 11-game Thursday card, including the Western Conference clash at Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta. We have prepared the best Blues vs. Flames pick and odds, so let’s take a closer look.

The Flames, who have lost four of their last five encounters with the Blues, are listed as firm -188 moneyline favorites. St. Louis is a +167 road dog, and the total sits at 6.0 goals.

The St. Louis Blues have yet to win or lose two straight contests in 2023-24. Last Tuesday, they started a four-game road trip with a 4-2 defeat at the Winnipeg Jets. The Blues took just 20 shots toward Connor Hellebuyck while going 1-for-4 with the man advantage.

Pavel Buchnevich scored a power-play goal against the Jets to open his account for the season. Buchnevich has recorded a pair of dishes thus far, while Robert Thomas leads the way for St. Louis with one goal and three assists in five appearances. The Blues are tallying just 2.00 goals per game (tied-29th in the league) while allowing 2.80 goals in return (10th).

Jordan Binnington turned 26 of 29 shots aside this past Tuesday. He fell to 2-1-1 on the season, holding a sparkling 1.69 GAA and a .945 save percentage. If the Blues decide to rest Binnington on Thursday, Joel Hofer will get the starting call. Hofer guarded the cage in last week’s 6-2 home loss to the Arizona Coyotes, giving up six goals on 42 shots.
