St. Louis Blues at Montreal Canadiens – 1/7/23 NHL Picks and Prediction

The St. Louis Blues and Montreal Canadiens face off on Saturday in an NHL showdown at the Centre Bell. When these two teams faced off in October it was the Canadiens that secured the 7-4.

The Blues come into this game with a 19-17-3 record overall and they have gone 12-9-1 away from home. In the last game against the New Jersey Devils, the Blues scored five goals and they won by two goals. Robert Thomas had a strong game finishing with two goals and adding one assist. The Blues are averaging 3.13 goals while their defense is giving up 3.64 goals per game. Jordan Kyrou is having a strong season scoring 19 goals and adding another 19 assists so far this season.

Montreal comes into this game with a 15-21-3 record overall and they have gone 7-10-0 at home. On Thursday against the New York Rangers the offense only scored one goal and they ended up losing three goals. Joel Armia finished with one goal and three shots. Montreal is averaging 2.56 goals while their defense is giving up 3.79 goals per game. The offense is ranked 30th and the defense is ranked 29th. This is a team that hasn’t done a whole lot right this season. Nick Suzuki has scored 15 goals and added 17 assists. In this game the offense needs to find a way to get going early, and put some pressure on the Blues.
