Spurs at Hornets Prediction – NBA Picks 2/15/23

The San Antonio Spurs and the Charlotte Hornets duke it out at the Spectrum Center on Wednesday night.

The San Antonio Spurs have been in terrible form as they've lost 18 of their last 19 games overall and they will be hoping to put an end to a 13-game losing streak after falling short to the Cavaliers in a 117-109 road loss on Monday. Keldon Johnson led the team with 25 points on eight of 13 shooting, Malaki Branham added 18 points on eight of 11 shooting while Keita Bates-Diop chipped in with 14 points. As a team, the Spurs shot 50 percent from the field and eight of 21 from the 3-point line but they got off to another poor start and were always playing from behind after getting outscored by 34-19 in the first quarter. The Spurs trailed in this one by as many as 21 points before they made a bit of a run in the second half to keep the final scores close.

Meanwhile, the Charlotte Hornets have been in rough shape as they've lost nine of their last 12 games overall, but they will be eager to build some momentum in this one after arresting a seven-game slide with a 144-138 win over the Hawks on Monday. LaMelo Ball led the team with 30 points and 15 assists, Terry Rozier added 29 points, Gordon Hayward added 26 points with eight assists while PJ Washington chipped in with 22 points, seven rebounds and five assists. As a team, the Hornets shot a healthy 63 percent from the field and 20 of 37 from the 3-point line as they set the tone with 36 points in the first quarter and just never took their foot off the gas, scoring at least 35 points in each quarter to break their losing streak in a high-scoring win.
