Southern Miss improved to 14-3 following a road win over Louisiana-Monroe. The Golden Eagles pulled away from the Warhawks late in the second half to secure the five-point victory. USM is scoring 73.8 points per game, while allowing ppg, and shooting 42.4% from the floor.
Southern Mississippi avenged their loss to UL-Lafayette by taking down UL-Monroe, and now they’ll to close this four-game road stint strong. USM has been powered by a pair of transfer portal signees in Felipe Haase (Mercer) and Austin Crowley (Ole Miss). Crowley, 6’4 guard, went a career-high 30 points in the win over Appalachian State, and he leads USM in scoring at 17.2 ppg. Haase, a 6’9 forward, recorded a 28-point double-double against Lamar, and he’s second on the team in scoring (14.8) and rebounding (7.1). Senior forward Deandre Pinckney posted back-to-back double-doubles in Louisiana, and he leads the team in rebounding (7.5), while scoring 13.5 ppg.
