The Southern Jaguars will head up to Cincinnati and face the Xavier Musketeers in non-conference action this Tuesday from the Mabee Center.
Southern is 4-5 after a loss to Louisiana Tech. The Jaguars fell behind big early and went on to take the 14-point loss. Southern is scoring 76.1 points per game, while shooting 44.8% from the floor, and 35.9 from deep. Brian Whitley leads the team in scoring (12.4) after a big 27-point showing last time out.
Xavier improved to 7-3 after defeating cross-town rivals Cincinnati on Saturday. The Musketeers traveled and faced the Bearcats in their annual meeting, and despite taking a 17-point lead into the locker room, they escaped with just a three-point victory. Xavier is scoring 76.1 points per game, while shooting 44.8% from the floor, and 35.9 from deep.
