South Florida (USF) vs. Cincinnati Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 10-8-2022

The No. 24 Cincinnati Bearcats (4-1, 1-0) will host the South Florida Bulls (1-4, 0-1) Saturday in a AAC matchup. Last season the Bearcats won this matchup on the road 45-28.

After going 2-10 last season, South Florida was picked to finish ninth in the AAC in the preseason media poll, ahead of only Navy and Temple. As expected South Florida has struggled. In non conference play there lost to  BYU 50-21, Florida 31-28, and Louisville 41-3. They beat Howard 42-20 for their lone win in Week 2.

Last week was ugly, as the Bulls fell behind to East Carolina 41-7 at the half. They made the score somewhat respectable in the second half, but the game was not even as close as the 48-28 final outcome showed.

After throwing six interceptions with no interceptions through the first four games, USF quarterback Bohannon completed 18 of 28 passes for 253 yards with three touchdowns in the loss, and also rushed for 74 yards and a touchdown.

The Bulls' offense is 102nd in the nation averaging 349.2 yards per  game and scoring averaging 23.5 ppg. Brain Battie is an explosive running back for USF picking up 391 rushing yards averaging 7.7 yards per attempt with three touchdowns, but with the team usually playing from behind, his impact has been limited.

On defense, the Bulls are allowing 38 ppg which is 123rd and 127th allowing 488.6 yards per game.
