The South Dakota Coyotes will play the Wisconsin Badgers in a non-conference game on Monday night at the Kohl Center in Madison, Wisconsin.
The South Dakota Coyotes were 19-12 (11-7) last season and finished fifth in the Summit League standings. South Dakota did win their first game of the conference tournament against Kansas City, but lost to South Dakota State by a score of 83-60 in the second round. South Dakota lost a few players that averaged between 5.8-9.5 points per game, but still have some good returning production from last year, along with a couple of transfers. South Dakota should have another good year and is in the mix to make win the conference.
The Wisconsin Badgers were 25-8 (15-5) last season and won a share of the regular season Big Ten Title, along with Illinois. Despite the very strong regular season, Wisconsin did not win a game in the Big Ten Tournament after losing to Michigan State by a score of 69-63. Wisconsin won one game in the NCAA Tournament against Colgate, but lost in the second round to Iowa State by a score of 54-49. Wisconsin lost Johnny Davis and Brad Davison from last year, but does return two players that averaged 11 points per game. The Badgers also bring in Max Klesmit, who averaged just under 15 points per game for Wofford last year. Wisconsin definitely has some question marks regarding their roster and it will be interesting to see how they work without Davis and Davison.
