South Carolina Gamecocks (8-12) vs. Georgia Bulldogs (13-7)

The 2022-23 NCAA men’s basketball schedule continues on Saturday as the South Carolina Gamecocks take on the Georgia Bulldogs at the Stegeman Coliseum in Columbia, South Carolina at 6:00 p.m. ET. 

The Gamecocks will be looking to snap a four-game losing streak while Georgia will be looking to snap a three-game losing streak of their own. A line was not set for this contest at the time this analysis was written, but the total is set at 150. South Carolina won both meetings between these clubs last season and has won the last 10 meetings overall.

The South Carolina Gamecocks (8-12, 9-11-0 ATS) dropped their fourth straight game when they fell to the Florida Gators on Wednesday. South Carolina has struggled offensively of late, hitting 36.7% of their shots overall, and were just 11-19 from the free-throw line. The loss dropped the team to 2-4 on the road.

Josh Gray set personal highs in both points (11) and rebounds (13), recording the first double-double of his college career. Gregory Jackson had a double-double as well, scoring 20 points and adding 10 boards. He leads the club at 16.1 points and 6.9 rebounds per contest but is shooting just 39.3% from the floor and 32.4% from three-point range.

The Gamecocks are one of the worst shooting teams in college basketball, ranked 342nd in points per game (63.6) and 354th in field-goal percentage (39.5%). They are 307th from the three-point range (31.4%) and 339th from the free-throw line (64.6%). They have been marginally better defensively, ranked 280th in points allowed per game (73.1), but are 346th in opponent field-goal percentage (47.1%).
