The Charlotte 49ers (1-3) visit the South Carolina Gamecocks (1-2) at Williams-Brice Stadium on Saturday, September 24, 2022.
The Gamecocks head into the matchup after losing 48-7 to the Georgia Bulldogs in their last outing on September 17. The 49ers’ last game was a 42-41 win over the Georgia State Panthers. Against the Bulldogs, Spencer Rattler led the Gamecocks with 118 yards on 13-of-25 passing (52.0%) for no touchdowns and two interceptions. Juju McDowell totaled 33 rushing yards on eight carries (4.1 yards per carry). He added two catches for 32 yards. Jalen Brooks totaled five receptions for 53 yards (averaging 10.6 per catch) against the Bulldogs. Chris Reynolds recorded 401 passing yards while going 31-for-43 with five touchdowns and one interception for the 49ers against the Panthers. Chavon McEachern put together a 13-carry, 76-yard game (5.8 yards per attempt). Elijah Spencer caught five passes for 96 yards (19.2 yards per catch), scoring one touchdown.
The 49ers are massive, 22-point underdogs against the Gamecocks (the game’s over/under is 68 points).
