The South Carolina Gamecocks will head up to Columbia to meet the Missouri Tigers in SEC play from the Mizzou Arena. The Tigers lead the head-to-head series, 8-7, but SC did win last year’s meeting at home.
South Carolina fell to 8-15 after losing to Arkansas in Columbia. The Gamecocks nearly rallied back, but came up just short to lose to the Hogs by two points. South Carolina is scoring 63.7 points per game, while allowing 72.7 ppg, and shooting 39.4% from the field.
South Carolina has dropped their last seven games, and it’s safe to say this season has gotten away from them. SC is 1-9 in SEC play, with a 2-5 road record. The Gamecocks rank near the bottom of the country in nearly all offensive categories, and they’ve struggled to surround true freshman Gregory Jackson with consistent production. The 6’9 forward has scored 18 or more in three of the last five games, and he leads SC in scoring (15.8) and rebounding (6.7). OSU transfer Meechie Johnson scored 20 points in the near win over Arkansas last time out, and he’s second on the team, and he’s averaging 12.3 ppg.
