South Alabama vs. New Mexico Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 11-11-2022

The Lobos welcome South Alabama to Albuquerque for an early season tilt. The Jaguars won their season opener, 97-59, over Mobile of the NAIA. There was no line on that game. The Lobos beat Southern Utah, 89-81, in their season opener, pushing on a -8 line. Tipoff from The Pit is scheduled for 9:00 p.m. EST.

Playing an NAIA side in their first game the Jags were able to work 12 players into their opener, seeing five of them get double digit points on a 40-69 shooting night. They did what you would hope they should do against such an inferior opponent, outrebounding Mobile 44-34 while registering 9 steals and 9 rebounds.

Jamar Franklin's 18 points off of the bench was the high-water mark for the team in game one. In 17 minutes the freshman guard managed to knock down 7 shots, 4 from 3-point range and also had 2 assists and a rebound. Center Kevin Samuel, a transfer from Florida-Gulf Coast by way of TCU, had 16 points and a team-high 12 rebounds in just 20 minutes of play. The big man also blocked 3 shots on the night.
