The SMU Mustangs (3-4) meet a familiar opponent when they visit the Tulsa Golden Hurricane (3-4) on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at Skelly Field at H.A. Chapman Stadium in an AAC clash.

The Mustangs head into the matchup after losing 29-27 to the Cincinnati Bearcats in their last game on October 22. The Golden Hurricane are coming off of a victory over the Temple Owls by the score of 27-16. Tanner Mordecai threw for 105 yards, with one touchdown and one interception on 15-of-25 passing (60.0%) for the Mustangs in that matchup against the Bearcats. Camar Wheaton totaled 53 rushing yards on eight carries (6.6 yards per carry). He also had two catches for zero yards. Jordan Kerley led the receiving charge against the Bearcats, catching three passes for 44 yards and one touchdown. Davis Brin threw for 155 yards for the Cane against the Owls, going 15-for-22 (68.2%) with two touchdowns and two interceptions. Deneric Prince carried the ball 20 times for 231 yards (11.6 yards per attempt) with one touchdown. In the passing game, he added two catches for 29 yards and one touchdown. JuanCarlos Santana had 44 yards through the air after four catches (on five targets).

The Mustangs (-2.5) are slight favorites in their matchup against the Golden Hurricane. The total is set at 66 points.
