The Siena Saints will travel and take on the Mount St. Mary’s Mountaineers in Metro League play from the Knott Arena on ESPN3. Siena has won all three meetings, and they defeated MSM in Albany three weeks ago, 72-57.
Siena dropped to 15-9 after losing to Niagara at home. The Saints led at the break, but they couldn’t hold off the Purple Eagles in the second half, and they lost by two points. Siena is scoring 69.1 points per game, while allowing 65.9 ppg and shooting 44.3% from the floor.
Siena has fallen from atop the MAAC with their past two losses, and they need to approach this matchup as ‘must-win’. The Saints are 9-4 in Metro play, with a 6-5 road record. Sophomore guard Javian McCollum’s absence in production over the past two games may point to why the skid has occurred, but hopefully he gets back on track against a vulnerable MSM team. McCollum leads the Saints in scoring (15.1) and assists (3.7). Jackson Stormo scored 24 points in the win over Rider, and he’s second on the team in scoring (13.7) and rebounding (5.3).
