It’s the final game of week 4 of the NFL season as a pair of teams from the NFC do battle on the gridiron in the Garden State. The Seattle Seahawks are on the road as they make the cross-country trip to take on the New York Giants on Monday Night Football. Seattle comes in off a 37-27 home win over Carolina in their previous contest last Sunday, covering the line as a 4.5-point favorite. New York was drubbed 30-12 on the road by San Francisco back on September 21 in their previous game, failing to cover the line as a 10.5-point underdog. In the all-time regular season series between the teams, each team has won 10 games, though the Seahawks have won five of the last six matchups. That includes a 27-13 home win in the most recent matchup on October 30, 2022.

Seattle took care of business at home against Carolina last week to earn their second straight victory heading into this contest. The Seahawks improved to 2-1 on the season and are second in the NFC West, one game behind the 49ers. Against Carolina, Seattle was even after the opening quarter and trailed 13-12 at the half before outscoring the Panthers 10-0 in the third quarter to take a 22-13 lead. The Seahawks didn’t let the Panthers closer than two the rest of the way en route to the win. Seattle racked up a 425-378 edge in total offense, picked up 27 first downs while allowing 23 and held a narrow 30:28 to 29:32 margin in time of possession in the game. Those numbers helped the Seahawks overcome committing the game’s lone turnover.
This season, the Seahawks are 13th in the league in passing offense as they average 228.3 yards per game through the air and 16th i n rushing offense with 104.3 yards per contest on the ground. Seattle is 4th in the league in scoring offense with an average of 29 points per game and a dismal 29th in scoring defense by allowing 29.3 points per contest. Geno Smith has completed 71 of 103 passes for 736 yards with four touchdowns against one interception. He has been sacked five times while ranking third on the team with 22 rushing yards. Kenneth Walker III leads the team on the ground with 47 carries for 204 yards and four scores this season. Rookie Zach Charbonnet (16 carries, 73 yards) and DeeJay Dallas (five carries, 14 yards) have seen work as well. DK Metcalf leads the team in the passing game with 15 catches for 234 yards and a score this season. Tyler Lockett (13 receptions, 103 yards, two TD), Jaxon Smith-Njigba (nine grabs, 57 yards) long with tight ends Noah Fant (eight catches, 97 yards) and Colby Parkinson (six receptions, 87 yards) have been versatile options. Jason Myers has hit all seven extra point attempts and eight of 11 field goal attempts with a long of 43 this season.
Seattle’s first injury report of the week was a lengthy one. Tackle Charles Cross (toe), guard Phil Haynes (calf), wide receiver DK Metcalf (ribs), cornerbacks Tre Brown (concussion) and Coby Bryant (toe), defensive end Dre’Mont Jones (hip), nose tackle Jarran Reed (quad), linebackers Uchenna Nwosu (Achilles) along with Darrell Taylor (shin) plus safety Quandre Diggs (hamstring) all missed practice Thursday. Tight end Will Dissly (shoulder), safety Julian Love (hamstring), and cornerback Artie Burns (hamstring) were limited. Watch for updates on their statuses through the weekend.
