The Oakland A's will host the Seattle Mariners on Sunday in the three-game series finale. Seattle won the opener on Friday, 10-2, and the A's bounced back with a 4-3 victory in 10-innings on Saturday. Seattle holds an 8-4 edge against Oakland on the season.
The Seattle Mariners ended the first half of the season with a 14-game winning streak, launching themselves into position for a wild card berth. Since the break, the Mariners have maintained their position with a 15-12 record after having a four-game winning streak end on Saturday. Seattle is second in the AL West, 10.5 games behind the Astros, and are tied with Toronto for the top spot in the wild-card race.

The Mariners are 12th with 135 home runs, 17th in OPS, 22nd in runs scored, and 25th in batting average. The pitching staff is seventh with a 3.65 ERA.
Luis Castillo (5-4, 2.73 ERA) will start on Sunday and has been a tremendous tradeline addition from the Cincinnati Reds. In three starts with Seattle, Castillo is 1-0 with a 2.18 ERA and 24 strikes against six walks in 20.2 innings. More importantly, Seattle is 3-0 in games started by Castillo, with two victories coming against the Yankees.
