Suarez and J.P. Crawford each had two hits for the Mariners in the loss. They have been struggling at the plate early in the season, ranked No. 24 in the MLB in team batting average (.222). France leads the way with 10 hits, six runs and five RBI, while Suarez also has 10 base knocks. They are facing a Cleveland pitching staff that is No. 13 with an ERA of 4.04. Right-handed pitcher Logan Gilbert is going to start for Seattle on Friday afternoon. He allowed one earned run on four hits across 6.0 innings while striking out seven batters in a 2-0 loss to Cleveland last Saturday. Gilbert went 13-6 with a 3.20 ERA last year.
