The Seattle Mariners and Houston Astros face off on Tuesday afternoon in the ALCS showdown at Minute Maid Park. The Astros have won six of the last seven games against the Mariners.
The Seattle Mariners have had to play a series already to get to this point. It only took two games against the Toronto Blue Jays to move on to this series. In the last game against the Blue Jays, the Mariners were down 8-1, but they were able to make the comeback. Four runs in the 6th inning and four runs in the 8th inning was the difference. Carlos Santana and JP Crawford both drove in three RBIs and they are going to need the offense to be good here. Eugenio Suarez has hit 31 home runs and driven in 87 RBIs. Ty France has hit 20 home runs and driven in 84 RBIs.
On the other side of this matchup is the Astros who won the American League West and didn’t have to play the first series of the playoffs. The Astros finished the regular season with a 106-56 record and they have leaned on the pitching most of the season, but the offense has been good also. The Astros scored 737 runs during the regular season and that was enough for 8th best in baseball. Kyle Tucker has had quite the season so far this year hitting 30 home runs and driving in 107 RBIs.
