Seattle Kraken vs. Vancouver Canucks Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 12-22-2022

The Seattle Kraken face the Vancouver Canucks with both teams looking to improve in the Pacific Division. The Kraken have an 18-10-3 record and with back-to-back wins are in third place in the Pacific Division while the Canucks have a 13-15-3 record and with consecutive losses are near the bottom of the division. Both teams are looking to improve in the Western Conference ahead of the break and the upcoming game should be a good one as a result.

The Kraken are having a great season with their offense leading the way and scoring 3.48 goals per game including eight goals in the last two games. Andre Burakovsky, Jordan Eberle, and Matthew Beniers have scored 29 goals and 48 assists to lead the top two lines but the entire offense has also stepped up. Jared McCann, Yanni Gourde, and Daniel Sprong have combined for 27 goals and 30 assists while defensemen Vince Dunn and Justin Schultz have added seven goals and 28 assists from the point to open up the offense.

The offense has been great but the defense hopes to improve, allowing 3.16 goals per game. Adam Larsson and Vince Dunn have combined for 3.5 defensive point shares and 98 blocked shots but the rest of the unit has struggled, allowing opponents to carry the puck into the offensive zone and find open shots on the net. In addition, goaltender Martin Jones has struggled in the net with a  .889 save percentage and a 2.91 goals-against average on 533 shots.
