We have a non-conference matchup between the Seattle Kraken and the Toronto Maple Leafs on Thursday evening at the Scotiabank Arena. The Kraken are third in the Pacific Division (19-12-4, 44 points) and are on a two-game winning streak after a 5-2 road victory on Tuesday over the Edmonton Oilers. The Maple Leafs are second in the Atlantic Division (23-8-7, 53 points) and are coming off a 6-5 home shootout loss against the St. Louis Blues on Tuesday. This is their first of two games against one another so this will be an interesting meeting.

The Seattle Kraken have been playing extremely well and are coming off a 5-2 road win over the Edmonton Oilers last time out. Center Jaden Schwartz led the team as he was able to finish with a goal and a pair of assists in the game. As a team, they scored five goals on 24 shots, despite winning just 38.7 percent of their faceoffs. They were also 1-for-3 on power play attempts. Defensively, they did a solid job as they allowed one goal on three power play opportunities. Martin Jones had a great game as he gave up two goals on 32 shot attempts so he needs to continue playing well to keep the streak alive.

This offense has been doing a decent job as they are 12th in the NHL with 126 goals scored thus far. They have a bunch of players stepping up, including left winger Andre Burakovsky as he has 28 points (10 goals, 18 assists) but has not recorded a point in his last six games. Defensively, they are also average as they are 17th in the league with 117 goals conceded as well. They have a good roster and are really competitive after just a couple of seasons as a franchise.
