The Seattle Kraken (19-15-5-4, 20-16 PL, 15-18-3 O/U) take on the New York Rangers (27-13-0-2, 14-22 PL, 19-16-1 O/U) in an inter-conference bout on Tuesday evening. The Kraken were hit with a road loss by the Penguins on Monday. The Rangers earned a home win against the Capitals on Sunday. The Rangers posted a 4-1 in the lone meeting.

The Seattle Kraken continues a road trek on Tuesday night. The squad is one of the hottest in the NHL. They were near the bottom of the conference standings in early December but are now just one point out of a wildcard spot after winning a stunning nine consecutive games. They posted a 7-4 road win against the Blue Jackets on Saturday but the winning streak came to an end in a 3-0 road loss to the Penguins on Monday afternoon.
Vince Dunn is the unlikely points leader on the squad. The veteran defenseman has collected five points on the month and now has 35 points on the year. Dunn was held pointless against the Rangers in October. Oliver Bjorkstrand has earned at least one point in three straight bouts. The 28-year-old winger had three points on Saturday and 34 points on the year. The Kraken needs more production out of Matty Beniers. The 21-year-old center has not been able to produce with any co nsistency after a marvelous rookie season. He has one point this month and only 19 points on the season.

The Kraken are winning games led by the defense and goaltending. Philip Grubauer remains on the IR and Joey Daccord has made the most of his opportunity. The young goalie has been incredible, recording a 2.29 GAA and a .923 save % accompanied by a 13-5-8 record. Seattle is scoring an average of 2.9 goals, ranking them 24th. They are conceding an average of 2.8 goals., good for ninth.
