Seattle Kraken vs. Dallas Stars Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 5-4-2023

The Seattle Kraken face the Dallas Stars in Game Two of the Second Round after an exciting first game of the series. The Kraken, who pulled off the upset in the First Round, took Game One in overtime with a 5-4 victory. The Stars forced overtime with two goals in the third period to tie the game but fell apart in overtime to fall into a 1-0 series hole. The Kraken look to take a commanding 2-0 series lead while the Stars look to bounce back on their home ice and even up the series and the upcoming game should be a great one.

The Kraken scored only 18 goals in the First Round but their offense took over Game One, scoring five goals in the overtime win. Jordan Eberle, Matthew Beniers, and Oliver Bjorkstrand, who have combined for six goals and six assists in the playoffs, scored two goals and two assists in Game One but the rest of the offense also stepped up. Yanni Gourde, Morgan Geekie, and Jaden Schwartz scored two goals and an assist while defensemen Vince Dunn, Justin Schultz, and Jamie Oleksiak added a goal and two assists from the point to open up the offense.

The offense was great but the defense, which only allowed 19 goals in the First Round, unraveled in Game One, allowing four goals. Dunn, Schultz, and Oleksiak led the top two pairings but the rest of the unit struggled, allowing the Stars to generate scoring chances with ease. In addition, goaltender Philipp Grubauer struggled in Game One, allowing four goals on 35 shots.
