Seattle Kraken vs. Chicago Blackhawks Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 1-14-2023

Once Upon A Time In Las Vegas – Wildcard Edition

The Seattle Kraken will go on the road on Saturday night to the United Center to clash with the Chicago Blackhawks in a Western Conference game. The Kraken are third in the Pacific Division (25-12-4, 54 points) and are on a seven-game winning streak after a 3-0 road win on Thursday night against the Boston Bruins. The Blackhawks have been brutal as they are last in the Central Division (11-25-4, 26 points) and are on a three-game winning streak and are coming off of a 3-2 home win against the Colorado Avalanche on Thursday. This will be the second of three games against one another as the Blackhawks are coming off a 5-4 home win back on October 23.

The Seattle Kraken have been an outstanding offensive team this season as they have scored 150 goals so far, which is fifth in the NHL. They have a pair of players on the injury report with both on Injured Reserve. They have been right around average on the power play as they have scored 26 goals on 121 power play attempts (21.49 percent). They also have been shooting extremely well as they have a 12.3 shooting percentage as a team.

Martin Jones is the starting goaltender for the Seattle Kraken and is expected to be in the net for this game. He did very well in his previous game as he did not allow any goals on 27 shots against the Boston Bruins in a victory. Jones has been 20-5-3 with an .898 save percentage and 2.69 goals allowed per game thus far. They gave up 125 goals so far, which is 16th in the NHL right now and have been struggling in terms of penalty kills, so they need to be better at full strength defensively.
