The Seattle Kraken were 4-2 in the preseason, but did lose their last two games. Seattle did not play well in their first season in the NHL last year and finished with only 60 points, which was last in the Pacific Division. Seattle had issues scoring and was one of the lowest scoring teams in the league. The projected starting goalie for Seattle is Philipp Grubauer, who was 18-31-5 with a 3.16 goals against average and a .889 save percentage last year.
The Anaheim Ducks were 4-3 in the preseason and lost two of their last three games. Anaheim finished one spot ahead of Seattle in the Pacific Division, but did have 76 points on the year. The Ducks were slightly better than Seattle in goal scoring and goals allowed, but were still in the bottom third of the league. The projected starting goalie for Anaheim is John Gibson, who was 18-26-11 with a 3.19 goals against average and a .904 save percentage last season. Gibson was injured in the final preseason game, but it looks like he is going to play.
