Utah State held on for a 75-71 home win over UNLV in their previous contest Tuesday night, though they failed to cover the line as a seven-point favorite. The Spartans dropped to 12-7 overall on the season and enter this game tied for sixth with a 3-3 record in conference play. Against Utah State, San Jose State led 7-4 early but gave up a 9-0 run to trail 13-7 and never got even again. The Spartans trailed by nine at the half and never got closer than that in the second half as the Aggies pulled away in the game. San Jose State shot only 33.9% from the field, including a dismal six of 32 from three-point range, and allowed Utah State to shoot 52.9% from the field in the contest. Omari Moore led San Jose State with 24 points and five assists in the loss.
