The Famous Idaho Potato Bowl will feature the San Jose State Spartans entering a showdown against the Eastern Michigan Eagles on Tuesday, December 20, 2022.
In their last game, the Spartans won 27-14 over the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors. The Eagles are coming off of a victory over the Central Michigan Chippewas by the score of 38-19. Chevan Cordeiro threw for 208 yards, with two touchdowns and one interception on 17-of-26 passing (65.4%) for the Spartans in that matchup against the Rainbow Warriors. Kairee Robinson took 24 carries for 148 yards (6.2 yards per carry) and one touchdown, while adding one reception for -1 yards in the passing game. Elijah Cooks had 10 receptions for 121 yards (12.1 per catch) and two touchdowns against the Rainbow Warriors. Taylor Powell went 24-for-36 with 266 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions for the Eagles against the Chippewas. He rushed four times for 5 yards and one touchdown. Samson Evans carried the ball 23 times for 135 yards (5.9 yards per attempt) with one touchdown. In the passing game, he added two catches for 14 yards. Dylan Drummond caught four passes on six targets for 60 yards (15. 0 yards per reception), and scored one touchdown.
The Spartans are the favorite (-3.5) against the Eagles. The total is set at 54.5 points.
