The Sharks are having a terrible season with their offense struggling and scoring only 1.00 goals per game with only three goals in their last five games. Tomas Herlt and Fabian Zetterlund have scored three goals and five assists this season but the rest of the offense has struggled. Only six skaters have found the back of the net this season and opposing defenses can eliminate the hapless offense as a result.

The offense has let the Sharks down but the defense has also struggled, allowing 3.88 goals per game. Mario Ferraro and Kyle Burroughs have led the top two pairings with 36 blocked shots but the rest of the unit has struggled, allowing opponents to find open shots on the net with ease. In addition, goaltender Mackenzie Blackwood has struggled with a .897 save percentage and a 4.23 goals-against average on 184 shots.
