The San Jose Sharks are no longer the worst team in the NHL. They’ve gone 5-2-0 over their previous seven outings at any location, and the Sharks will search for their third consecutive victory when they finish a six-game road trip on Sunday night.

Last Tuesday, the Sharks outlasted the New York Islanders 5-4 in overtime. San Jose erased a three-goal third-period deficit, and Tomas Hertl led the charge with a hat-trick. Two days later, the Sharks edged the Detroit Red Wings 6-5 in overtime, and Hertl accounted for a couple of goals.

The Sharks are still dead last in the league in both goals for (2.15 per game) and goals against (4.04). Kaapo Kahkonen has guarded the cage in thre e of San Jose’s previous four contests, and the 27-year-old netminder is undefeated in four straight starts. Kahkonen is 5-6-0 with a 3.89 GAA and a .897 save percentage this season, while Mackenzie Blackwood is 3-11-2 with a 3.83 GAA and a .895 SV%.
