San Jose Sharks (3-14-1) vs. Seattle Kraken (7-8-5) 

The 2023-24 NHL season continues Wednesday, November 22, with the San Jose Sharks facing off against the Seattle Kraken in the Pacific Division showdown at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Washington, with the puck drop at 10:00 PM ET.

The San Jose Sharks have dropped four of their last five games overall. They beat the St. Louis Blues 5-1 at home this past Thursday to snap a three-game skid. Four days later, the Sharks returned to losing ways, suffering a 3-1 defeat at the Vancouver Canucks. 

Tomas Hertl converted one of San Jose’s three power-play opportunities at Rogers Arena in Vancouver. He cut the deficit to one goal early in the third period, but the Sharks couldn’t complete a comeback. They were outshot 38-28, and the Canucks fully deserved to win. 

San Jose is still dead last in the NHL in both goals for (1.50 per game) and goals against (4.17). Kaapo Kahkonen guarded the cage in that 5-1 win ove r St. Louis, improving to 1-5-0 on the season. He holds a 3.86 GAA and a .896 save percentage, while Mackenzie Blackwood, who yielded three goals on 37 shots in the Canucks game, is 2-9-1 with a 3.94 GAA and a .900 save percentage.
