The San Jose Sharks lost to the Edmonton Oilers at home on Thursday, 5-0. It was the seventh straight loss for the team. San Jose has also lost five straight games on the road (0-4-1) and is 3-15-1 on the road this season.

Magnus Chrona gave up four goals in the first period and his night was over. Mackenzie Blackwood (4-14-2, 3.92, .889) returns with backup Kaapo Kahkonen (5-9-1, 3.61, .900). there are a lot of things wrong with San Jose and this is one of the keys, as the team is last in goals against average (4.08). They have given up at least five goals in four straight games and have yielded four or more goals in six straight contests, allowing 32 in that span.

The Sharks were shutout by Edmonton in the loss, as they have been held to two goals or fewer in seve n of their last eight games. Mario Ferraro has four points over his last five games, but only two players have as many as 10 goals this season. It is not surprising that the Sharks are last in goals per game (2.06).
