San Jose Sharks at New York Islanders – 10/18/22 NHL Picks and Prediction

The San Jose Sharks and New York Islanders face off on Tuesday in an NHL showdown at UBS Arena. When these two teams faced off on February 24th it was the Sharks that secured the 4-3 victory. 

The San Jose Sharks have already played four games so far this season, and they have lost four straight games. In the last game against the Chicago Blackhawks, the offense only managed two goals while the defense gave up five goals. At the end of the two periods the Blackhawks were down 5-0 before the offense scored two goals. Erik Karlsson scored one goal and one assist to lead the Sharks. In goal for the Sharks was Kaapo Kähkönen and he saved 20 of the 25 shots that he faced. 

On the other side of this matchup is the Islanders and they have played two games so far this season. In the last first game, the Islanders lost to the Florida Panthers, but in the last game, they beat the Anaheim Ducks 7-1. Anders Lee had a nice game finishing with three assists. Robin Salo and Scott Mayfield both had big games finishing with two goals. As they team they put 38 shots on goal and it’s going to be important that they put that pressure on the Sharks defense here again.
