The San Francisco Giants have started to make a move in the NL West standings as they push back toward .500 on the season. The Giants have won seven of their last ten games and took the first two games of the series in Minnesota heading into the finale on Wednesday afternoon. On Wednesday, the Giants' defense made three errors to extend innings and never recovered from an early deficit to lose out on a chance to sweep the first-place Twins. Starter Anthony DeSclafani went five innings and allowed seven runs, only four of which were earned, to drop to 3-4 on the season.

The Giants hope to keep on winning on Thursday night when they hand the ball to ace Logan Webb. Webb is 2-5 on the season in ten starts, seven of those starts have been quality starts. Webb's ERA is 2.91 and he has a 9.0 K/9 ratio. Webb is 1-3 on the road with a 4.18 ERA and a K/9 rate of 8.4. Webb has been excellent in his last three starts for the Giants. He is 1-0 in that time with a 0.90 ERA and allowed 16 hits in 20 innings of work. Webb has a career-low walk percentage right now and his strikeout percentage of 25% is five points higher than last season.

Key Injuries: C Joey Bart and DH Joc Peterson are out.
