The Giants have been walked off in each of the first two games of the series in Detroit. On Friday night, the Giants came back to tie the game thanks to an eight-inning 3-run home run from JD Davis and even held the lead in the 11th before losing on a 3-run home run, 7-5. On Saturday, the Giants built a 6-1 lead after three innings and led 6-3 in the eighth inning before allowing the Tigers to rally to tie the game. Davis homered again for the Giants and has six RBI thus far in the series. Unfortunately, the Giants' bullpen couldn't make it hold up. The Giants used four relievers after Anthony DeSclafani left after pitching 6.2 innings and allowing six hits and two runs.

“We have an experienced, quality group of relievers, but they are a little taxed right now and not performing at their best,” Giants manager Gabe Kapler said after the second straight heartbreaking loss.
