San Francisco Giants vs. Arizona Diamondbacks Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 5-11-2023

The Arizona Diamondbacks (20-17) will host the San Francisco Giants (16-20) in an NL West matchup on Thursday.

The Giants are coming off an 11-6 upset loss on Wednesday to the Washington Nationals. The game was not even as close as the final score indicates, as the Nationals grabbed an 8-0 lead early in the third inning and cruised to victory.

The Giants overall has been an average offensive team. The club is 14th in MLB scoring 4.4 runs per game and with 8.2 hits per game. LaMonte Wade Jr leads the team with seven home runs, and J.D Davis has a team-best 20 RBI. The power has been exceptional, as San Francisco is fourth in home runs. Overall, the pitching has struggled this season, but Alex Cobb (2-1, 2.01 ERA) has been terrific and will get the start on Thursday. The Giants' defense that will be behind Cobb has committed more errors per game than any other MLB.

The Giants are 17-19 against the run line this season and 6-10 straight up when on the road.
