San Francisco at Santa Clara – 12/29/22 College Basketball Picks and Prediction

The San Francisco Dons will make the 45-minute trip down the Bay and face the Santa Clara Broncos this Thursday from the Leavey Center on WCC. This will mark the 165th time these Northern California schools face off, and San Francisco leads the all-time series 83-81 after winning seven of the last eight meetings.

San Francisco moved to 11-4 after taking down Hartford at home. The Dons closed non-conference play on a good note, outscoring the Hawks by double figures in both halves, and picking up their second straight 30-point win. USF scores 75.5 points per game, while allowing 69.7 ppg, and shooting 46.9%  from the field.

Khalil Shabazz is thriving in the veteran captain role this seasons The four-year starter dropped 26 points in the blowout win over a streaking Arizona State team, and he leads USF in scoring (14.5) and assists (3.8), while grabbing 5.9 rpg. Tyrell Roberts, a Wazzu transfer, has brought his consistent scoring to the Bay, and he’s second on the team in scoring at 14.5 ppg. Zane Meeks (11.6 ppg, 6.4 rpg) played a big part in the win over UNLV, but his status will be worth monitoring after missing the Hartford game.
