The Kansas City Royals host the San Diego Padres for the second game of a three-game interleague series on Aug. 27.

Yu Darvish returns from the paternity list to start for San Diego. Darvish is 10-7 with a 3.39 ERA in 148.2 innings. Darvish is striking out nearly two fewer batters per nine innings this season than he has for much of his career, but he has allowed fewer longballs and held batters to a .215 average. Oddly, the righthander has been more dominant against lefthanded hitters this season, allowing just under 25% to reach base compared to his career on-base average of .298 against them.

Daniel Lynch gets the start for Kansas City. Lynch is 4-8 with a 4.58 ERA over 98.1 innings. Right-handers have fared well against the 6-foot, 6-inch Royals lefty, hitting .277 with 11 homeruns in 400 plate appearance. He is walking nearly four batters per nine innings.
