The bright lights will shine in New York City when the San Antonio Spurs (3-4, 3-4 ATS) take on the New York Knicks (3-4, 3-2-2 ATS).  The Spurs are coming off a blowout loss in Indiana, going down to the Pacers 152-111 as 8.5-point dogs. The Knicks just spoiled James Harden's debut with the Clippers, defeating Los Angeles at home 111-97 as 1.5-point favorites. The Knicks are currently listed as 9.5-point favorites. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 EST from Madison Square Garden, and can be found nationally on ESPN.

The only thing most fans think of when the hear the San Antonio Spurs is rookie Victor Wembanyama, but no man wins alone in the NBA. The Spurs must have other players step up when Wemby has the type of game he played against Indiana. Against the Pacers he only scored 13 points on 3-12 shooting in just 21 minutes of action. The Spurs may have thrown in the towel early in the game, as no player played more than 23 minutes, and the team was already trailing by 25 at halftime.

Wembanyama is already leading the team in points, rebounds, steals and blocks. He averages 19.4 PPG, 8.4 RPG, 1.3 SPG, and 2.6 BPG. Wemby dropped 38 on Phoenix, but has scored 20 or less in their last two games, both of which were losses. Devin Vassell is also averaging 19.4 PPG, but missed the last two games with an adductor injury, and is unlikely to play against New York. Keldon Johnson is the next top scorer for the Spurs, the 6'5 wing is averaging 16.9 PPG and 5.3 RPG. Zach Collins starts at the 4, creating a big frontcourt as he stands 6'11 and adds another 14.3 PPG and 6.6 RPG.

Doug McDermott has been the Spurs top shooter, he averages 2.3 made threes per game, but is only scoring 8.1 PPG, showing his tendency to just shoot threes. Jeremy Sochan starts as a do-everything type of player, he is the team's top perimeter defender and adds another 8.4 PPG. The Spurs currently rank 25th in offensive efficiency and 29th in defensive efficiency according to dunksandthrees.com. The Spurs have been playing fast, with the 7th fastest pace of play in the league.
