The new Serie A season kicks off on Saturday as both Atalanta and Sampdoria will look to have much better seasons than they experienced last year in the Italian league.
After an impressive third-place finish two seasons ago, Atalanta drifted out massively last year, ranking all the way down in eighth position in the table and lost out on European football as a res ult.
Sampdoria for their part were far worse, avoiding relegation by just six points and ranked as the third worst team on overall total points accumulated over 2022 and second worst on xPTS also, so they’ll have a huge fight ahead of them this season in order to survive.
