The Sacramento Kings are back in the NBA playoffs after trouncing the Blazers 120-80 on Wednesday night. The win ends a 17-year drought for the Kings in reaching the NBA playoffs, the longest not only in the NBA but in professional sports. The Kings now stand alone in the third spot in the Western Conference standings, assuring themselves of home-court advantage in the first round of the playoffs. De'Aaron Fox finished the game with 18 points and the former 2017 Sacramento draft pick was able to cherish the moment of ending a drought that dates back to 2006.
“We want to do bigger things, but 16 years — that’s a long time,” Fox said.
“Definitely with this team, I think you’re just playing for a higher purpose,” Fox added. “And I think we have a team that’s capable and we know that we can continue to get better.”
The Kings outscored the Trail Blazers 70-34 in the second half last night.

The Kings have also managed to hold two opponents under 100 points during this 10-game stretch. The Kings are second in the NBA in field goal percentage at just under 50%.
