Sacramento Kings vs. Golden State Warriors Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 10-23-2022

This Sunday, the (0-1) Sacramento Kings will travel to San Francisco, CA to take on the (1-1) Golden State Warriors. Tip-off will be at 8:30 PM EST inside the Chase Center. Both of these teams are entering this game after a loss, as they will be looking to bounce back in this one.

The Sacramento Kings are coming into this one after falling to the Portland Trailblazers, 115-108. They will need to be better on the defensive end of the court, as they allowed too many points to stay competitive in this game.

The Golden State Warriors are entering this one after losing to the Denver Nuggets, 128-123. They also have to be better on defense, as they allowed the Nuggets to shoot 53.5% from the floor. They can't continue to think that they are going to win these games without locking up on the defensive end.

This game was written/published before last night's results.

The Sacramento Kings did not make the postseason last year, as they are looking for their young core to take the next step this season. They also picked up Malik Monk and Kevin Huerter in hopes that they can provide this team with some shooting and depth. According to dunksandthrees.com, the Kings currently have an adjusted offensive rating of 109.1, which is the 21st highest in the league. They are also scoring 108 points per game and shooting 45.9% from the field. This is the 19th most points scored per game and the 18th-highest shooting percentage. Luckily, they showed that they could step behind the arc and make it rain in the first game of their season. They shot 38.6% from deep, which is the seventh-highest percentage in the NBA. They have multiple snipers on the outside that can take over this game. Sacramento did struggle from the free-throw line, though. They only shot 68.4% from the stripe, as they can't continue to allow thes e opportunities to go to waste. I would recommend watching for De'Aaron Fox, as he currently leads the team with 33 points scored per game and 7 assists. He runs this offense and can create shots for himself and his teammates.

On defense, the Kings had a difficult time against the Trailblazers. They currently have an adjusted defensive rating of 113, which is the 22nd highest in the NBA. The Kings are surrendering 115 points per game and they are allowing their opponents to shoot 44.3% from the floor. This is the 20th most points surrendered per game, but the 12th lowest field goal percentage allowed. They are very athletic and have speed, as they can close out on shooters and recover very quickly. They did allow the Blazers to shoot 39.3% from behind the arc, though. This is the 25th-highest three-point shooting percentage allowed, as they will have to be better on the perimeter against the Warriors. Sacramento also grabbed 41 boards in their first game o f the season, which is the 21st most in the league. They will have to secure the ball if they want to avoid giving Golden State second and third chances to score.
