Sacramento Kings vs. Atlanta Hawks Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 11-23-2022

Sacramento (9-6 SU, 11-4 ATS) takes on Atlanta (10-7 SU, 7-10 ATS) on Wednesday night at 7:30pmET. The Kings have won six straight games heading into their matchup against Memphis on Tuesday night. The Hawks have not been flying this season, having won four of their last eight games.

Last season, Atlanta swept the season series 2-0 and covered both games.

This game was published before Tuesday night's results.

Kevin Huerter had four pretty good, but non-descript seasons in Atlanta. The 6-7 shooting guard never really found his niche and when the Hawks added Dejounte Murray from the Spurs, there was no need for “Red Velvet”. He was basically given away in the off-season to Sacramento for Justin Holiday, Moe Harkless, and a future draft pick. The former Maryland wing is averaging 16.6 points on 49.5% from three-point range.

It also helps Huerter that he's not the first option with De'Aaron Fox, Harrison Barnes and Domantas Sabonis in the lineup. In the Kings' 137-129 win over Detroit on Sunday, Fox had 33 points and seven assists on 11-of-18 shooting, while Barnes added 27 points. Huerter added 24 points, five rebounds and five assists. Sacramento shot 55% from the field against the Pistons, but struggled defensively to defend the three-point shot (15-29%).

Even though the Kings have won six straight games, defense is still an issue. They rank 26th in points allowed (117.5), 29th in field goal% defense (50.2%) and 29th in three-point defense (29th). On offense, they lead the league in points per game (121.4) and field goal percentage (50.2%) and rank fifth in three-point shooting (38%).

Fox leads the team with 25.4 points per game and 6.4 assists, while Sabonis adds 17.5 points, 10.9 rebounds and 6.0 assists.
