The Sacramento Kings invade the FTX Arena to do battle with the Miami Heat on Wednesday night.
The Sacramento Kings kicked off their season with four losses in a row, but they are now aiming for a third straight victory after taking down the Hornets in a 115-108 road win on Monday. Kevin Huerter led the way with 26 points and five assists on eight of 16 shooting, Davion Mitchell added 23 points on nine of 11 shooting off the bench, Harrison Barnes scored 16 points while Domantas Sabonis tallied nine points with 16 rebounds and seven assists. As a team, the Kings shot 43 percent from the field and 17 of 44 from the 3-point line as they struggled to get going and found themselves trailing by 15 points heading into halftime, but they flipped the script with a dominant 37-18 third quarter and managed to escape with the unlikely victory.
Meanwhile, the Miami Heat have endured a slow start to the season as they’ve lost five of their first eight games, but they will be eager to build some momentum after outlasting the Warriors in a 116-109 win last night. Max Strus led the team in scoring with 24 points off the bench, Jimmy Butler added 23 points with eight assists while Bam Adebayo chipped in with 19 points, seven rebounds, six assists and three steals. As a team, the Heat shot 45 percent from the field and 16 of 42 from the 3-point line as they looked to be in trouble after squandering an early nine-point lead to fall behind by 10 points, but they hung in the contest and closed the final 1:48 on a 7-2 run to escape with the much-needed victory.
