Rutgers comes into this game with just a 1-2 road record this season. That one win, however, was over the Purdue Boilermakers, the #1 team in the country. It marked the second straight year that the Scarlet Knights had taken down Purdue shortly after the Boilermakers took over the #1 spot in the country. On Sunday at home against Iowa, Rutgers fell 76-65. Iowa shot 45% from the field overall but drilled 44% from downtown. Cam Spencer led Rutgers with 13 points and Caleb McConnell chipped in with 12 points.

“You have to play better when you're playing a team that – in the last 20 minutes at the Indiana game and today – that's as good a 60 minutes as anyone's played in this league. So, give them a tip of the hat coming in this tough environment. Coach McCaffery does a great job and you know, they got the win. We've got to have short memories here. This was our third game in five days. We ha ve another game coming right up against a really good Northwestern team. So we've got to flip the page and get ready for them.” Rutgers head coach Steve Pikiell said after the tough loss.

The Scarlet Knights hope to get to their winning ways with a solid road test here. Rutgers comes into the matchup with the 142nd ranked scoring offense and just the 279th ranked 3pt shooting. On the glass, Rutgers has been solid, ranking 61st in the country in rebounding. Rutgers has protected the ball well this season, ranked 45th in turnovers thus far. Defensively, the Scarlet Knights have been tremendous, ranked fourth in the country in points allowed per game. They have been dominant on the perimeter, ranked 9th in the nation in 3pt defense.
