The Rhode Island Rams are now 2-3 in A-10 Conference play after dropping two of their last three games, including a 75-65 loss to UMass on Saturday night. Rhode Island trailed by one at the half but a poor shooting night did the Rams in. For the game, Rhode Island shot just 37% overall. UMass was the more aggressive team and it showed at the free-throw line as the Rams watched UMass make 19-of-24 free throws in the second half alone. The Rams were led by Ishmael Leggett, who finished with 19 points to go along with three rebounds and two assists. Jalen Carey chipped in with 12 points, seven rebounds and three assists.

Rhode Island has really struggled on the offensive end thus far this season. The Rams are ranked 256th in the country in points per game. In addition, URI is one of the weaker teams in the country from outside, ranking 336th in 3-point shooting. The Rams are not efficient with the basketball either as they sit in 306th place in turnovers per contest. One area of strength for URI is on the glass. The team ranks 25th in the country in rebounding. They have done a better job on the defensive end, ranking 171st in scoring defense and 79th in 3pt defense.
