The Quinnipiac Bobcats (17-7, 12-10-1 ATS, 11-12 O/U) take on the Niagara Purple Eagles (13-9, 12-9 ATS, 9-12 O/U) in a MAAC bout on Friday evening. The Bobcats dropped a home decision to Mount St. Mary’s on Sunday. The Purple Eagles earned a road win against Siena in their previous bout. Niagara posted a 64-60 road win against Quinnipiac in December. 

The Quinnipiac Bobcats are looking to rebound from a surprising home loss. They were marked huge 10.5-point favorites in a disappointing 79-75 home defeat against Mount St. Mary’s on Sunday to end a mini two-game winning streak. The Bobcats' three other conference defeats occurred against St. Peter’s, Siena, and Iona. Quinnipiac was 6-2 at one point but has gone 2-2 since and is now 8-5 in conference play. They have covered the spread in three consecutive road games.

Dezi Jones scored 15 points in Sunday’s defeat. The junior guard leads the squad with 12 PPG on a 42% mark from the field. Matt Balanc has connected on 50% of his field goals in two of his last three performances, leading to 19 points on Sunday. The senior guard has increased his season average to 11.3 PPG on 40% shooting. Ike Nweke has collected four double-doubles this season. The senior forward has solid num bers, posting an average of 10.6 PPG accompanied by 6.2 RPG.

The Bobcats are ranked 131st in DI in Ken Pomeroy’s ratings and have been outstanding on the road where they stand at 7-3. Quinnipiac has scored over 70 points in four out of their last five games and is averaging 72.6 points on the year, landing them 158th. The defense is their greatest strength,  limiting opponents to only 66.7 points, placing them 95th.
