For the second straight season, the Purdue Boilermakers briefly held the #1 ranking in the country before being upset by Rutgers. The Boilermaker have wasted little time getting back on track in the Big Ten. First, Purdue won two critical road games at Penn State and at #24 Ohio State. In their latest matchup, the Boilermakers rolled over Nebraska 73-55. Zach Edey had yet another double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds while Fletcher Loyer scored a season-high 27 points. With the win, head coach Matt Painter earned his 400th victory at Purdue. He is just the fifth Big Ten coach in history to win that many games at one school.

“Purdue's a special palace,” Boilermakers coach and former player Painter said. “They (the fans) understand if you're playing hard and playing together. They might not all understand it, but collectively they do and that's the one thing you've got to be able to do. You've got to play the right way and you've got to play hard.”

The Boilermakers have rolled through the start of the season with just one hiccup in their schedule thus far. They come into this matchup with a perfect 4-0 record on the road, including two in the Big Ten. Purdue has the most efficient offense in the country and checks in at 29th in defensive efficiency. Purdue, led by Edey, has been dominant on the glass as the fifth best rebounding team in the country. They are also 83rd in the country in field goal percentage.
